Chaos erupted in Midtown as gunfire shattered the night, leaving four men wounded in an apparent robbery turned violent. The Atlanta Police Department reports that on Wednesday at around 11:50pm, they were called to the scene of a shooting at an apartment on 903 Peachtree St NE. Officers found an adult male with a severe gunshot wound to the face, and two others inside the apartment, both also suffering from gunshot injuries. All victims were rushed to the hospital in critical condition but were reported as alert, conscious, and breathing upon departure, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
A fourth victim appeared to have managed to transport himself to Grady Hospital seeking treatment for gunshot wounds as well. The preliminary investigation by police suggests that the incident occurred amid a narcotics transaction gone awry. A significant quantity of drugs was found on the scene in plain view, along to with a firearm. Investigators are now thoroughly working to piece together the events that led up to the violence.
