
Georgia State Senator Donzella James is hosting a community assistance event called Operation Winter Warmth this weekend in South Fulton to support residents affected by cold weather. The event is being organized in partnership with local officials, including Mayor Carmalitha Gumbs, Councilwoman Keosha Bell, and community leader Don Mahmood.
According to the Georgia State Senate Press Office, the event is scheduled for today from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Burdett Park in College Park. The event is open to the public and does not require prior registration.
Volunteers from the 28th Senate District and local community leaders will distribute essential items, including coats, thermal clothing, beanies, and toiletries such as shampoo and deodorant. Food and beverages, including water, coffee, hot chocolate, and cheese pizza, will also be provided.
Organizers stated that individuals interested in donating or assisting with the event are encouraged to contact the organizers ahead of time.
