For those who traverse the thoroughfares of Greene County, the Ohio Department of Transportation has issued an advisory that could impact your travels. In a recent update posted on their social media account, the Ohio Department of Transportation - Cincinnati District 8 has announced lane closures on US 35 West for utility and roadway maintenance. This may cause delays and drivers should plan accordingly.
On Wednesday, February 18, those making their way along US 35 West should expect a single-lane closure that will stretch from the Valley/Trebein overpass to Orchard Lane. This shutdown will be in effect from 9 a.m. to noon as crews undertake utility work that's necessary for the area's infrastructure. The Ohio Department of Transportation - ODOT District 8 emphasizes the importance of this work for the surrounding community, despite the temporary inconvenience to drivers.
The following week brings additional changes, particularly on Sunday and Monday, February 22 and 23. Motorists using US 35 West during these days will again face a single-lane closure, this time from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the subsequent mornings. According to the department, the nighttime hours have been selected to minimize impact on the daily bustle. Crews during these hours will be busy with the removal of barrier walls and the installation of guardrails, essential elements in ensuring the safety of commuters.
