For residents of Gretna, Louisiana, a week of disruption is on the horizon as critical repair work is set to commence. The City of Gretna announced on social media that, from tomorrow at 9:00 am, there'll be a full closure of 4th Street stretching from west of Newton to Lafayette. According to the Facebook post, the barricades will be up through February 9, with no access permitted on this stretch of road, not even for parking.

Local dwellers who typically park their vehicles along this section of 4th Street have been given a heads up—they'll need to seek alternative arrangements until the repairs wrap up. The city's announcement highlighted, "There will be no crossing 4th at Newton or Lavoisier during that time."
The notice comes with an appeal for patience as the work continues, along with an expression of gratitude for the community's cooperation and support in helping ensure the project’s successful completion.
