A Tuesday night shift at a Brooklyn Park AutoZone turned violent when an employee was shot and rushed to a hospital in critical condition, according to police. Officers were called to the auto parts store on Brooklyn Boulevard at about 9 p.m. for reports of gunfire. The victim, a man who works at the store, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
According to KSTP, officers found the employee with multiple gunshot wounds and got him to a hospital, where he remained in critical condition. Police brought in a K-9 team and requested a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter to search the area. No arrests had been announced as of Tuesday night, and investigators were still working to determine a motive.

Same Store Was Target Of Shots-Fired Call Last Year
This AutoZone location has seen gunfire before. In March 2025, police reported multiple shots fired at the store in the 7700 block of Brooklyn Boulevard while an employee was taking out the trash. No one was injured and the shooter fled before officers arrived, CCX Media reported. That earlier incident also triggered a large search that included drones and state aircraft.
Investigation Remains Active
Detectives are canvassing the area and reviewing surveillance footage as they work to identify suspects and determine what led up to the shooting. The Brooklyn Park Police Department has urged anyone with information to come forward.
