A string of indecent exposure incidents involving a Hamilton man has culminated in charges of burglary and public indecency, with police saying that additional charges against the man are possible. Jalen Peck, 26, was arrested after a series of early morning events on Feb. 14, where he is accused of exposing himself in the 400 block of Sherman Avenue, the 100 block of North F Street, and the 300 block of North C Street.
Details from a WLWT report indicate that during one incident, Peck allegedly entered a home through an unlocked window and proceeded to engage in lewd conduct before being confronted by the resident and fleeing the scene. Another neighbor recalled the search efforts for Peck, saying, "I just suddenly see police going down the road... And it was just insane, because I didn't find out until the next day, what actually happened."
According to the Local 12 coverage, an additional encounter involved Peck hiding in a hallway closet after he snuck in through another unlocked window, only to be chased out by the resident’s son. Peck was later apprehended by police on Monday evening on active, unrelated warrants and a tip from a resident linking him to the incidents.
Community reactions to these events have been of shock and unease, with one Hamilton business owner, Kevin Betsch, stating to FOX19, "Definitely not welcome in the area... Just odd that it would happen in general because there’s alot of coming together going on, so it’s weird that it would really even transpire in general." In light of the events, residents and business owners alike are becoming more vigilant about safety.
