Millbrook Road’s hot chicken lineup is set to expand as Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken & Wings plans a Raleigh location. The restaurant is targeting space in a shopping center north of downtown that also recently added Clyde Cooper’s Barbecue, adding another national-style chicken option to a corridor that has seen a wave of new leases and restaurant changes in recent months.
Deal reported by local business press
Triangle Business Journal first reported that the franchised chain is planning a Raleigh location in a shopping center, though no opening date has been announced. The same center recently added Clyde Cooper’s, which plans to move into the former Red, Hot & Blue space at 1326 E. Millbrook Road in Quail Corners. The Business Journal described Hangry Joe’s planned Triangle location as part of the continued turnover along the Millbrook corridor.
Where it might land
Millbrook Road and nearby shopping centers have seen a steady pace of leases and relocations, drawing interest from quick-service restaurants seeking consistent traffic. Hangry Joe’s public locations map already lists several North Carolina sites, though a Raleigh location has not yet been added. Commercial property listings and broker materials for the Millbrook corridor show available space and recent deals, reflecting continued retailer activity in the area, according to regional broker listings.
Chain momentum in the Triangle
Hangry Joe’s has continued expanding across the Southeast and marked the opening of its 100th store in High Point in April 2025. The brand’s recent growth, along with the continued presence of chicken-focused quick-service concepts in the market, provides context for its interest in additional Triangle locations.
As of now, the Triangle Business Journal report does not include an opening date or lease details for the Raleigh location, and Hangry Joe’s public listings have not added a Raleigh site. Additional information on timing and the specific space is expected once the company or property owner provides a formal announcement.
