Following a vehicular pursuit in Hazel Park, Michigan, a man of Venezuelan nationality, Edwin Romero Gutierrez, was apprehended by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials on Monday, according to The Detroit News. The pursuit began when agents attempted to pull over Romero, but he fled and nearly caused multiple collisions.
Hazel Park Police were notified of the situation at approximately 11:08 a.m. and confirmed the arrest took place at an Amazon warehouse located on Nine Mile Road; Hazel Park Police confirmed that by the time they arrived, ICE had already detained the individual, as outlined in a release provided to CBS Detroit.
The sequence of events that unfolded saw Romero driving dangerously as he entered the warehouse's parking lot and abandoned his vehicle, which he left in drive before he attempted to elude agents on foot.
