Jefferson Parish Transit announced service adjustments for the 2026 Carnival Season from February 6 to February 17 to accommodate parade routes and ensure safety for commuters and attendees. Detours will begin two hours before each parade, affecting routes like E1 – Veterans-Airport, E2 – Airline, E3 – Jefferson Highway, and E201 – Kenner Loop with temporary reroutes and adjusted pickup points, according to the Jefferson Parish.
Notable changes include the E2 ending its last pickup at Tulane and S. Claiborne on Mardi Gras Day and adjusting for the Endymion Parade on February 14, while the E3 and E201 will follow alternative paths during the Kenner Lundi Gras and Krewe of Isis parades. These adjustments ensure buses continue running smoothly amid the seasonal festivities, keeping transit in rhythm with the city’s Mardi Gras celebrations, as reported by the Jefferson Parish.
On Mardi Gras Day in Marrero, Jefferson Transit’s W1, W2, and W10 buses will run on a Saturday schedule. W1 and W2 will make their last pickups at Westbank Expressway at Berger by Popeyes before continuing their normal routes. W10 will not operate on 4th Street from Louisiana to Walkertown Terminal during the Mystic Krewe of Music parade.
