
In Belleville, a juvenile male was shot Monday night in the 600 block of Royal Heights Road, according to a post from the Belleville Police Department. Officers arrived around 10:27 p.m. and found the youth with multiple gunshot wounds to his lower torso. Emergency medical personnel treated him on-site before transporting him to a St. Louis-area hospital, where he is currently in critical but stable condition.
According to a social media post, a juvenile male suspect has been arrested in connection with the Belleville shooting. The Belleville Police Department reported that the suspect was taken into custody early Monday morning around 5:30 a.m. in the 4100 block of Shirley Drive by the Belleville/St. Clair County Regional Special Response Team. The investigation involved both the Patrol and Investigations Divisions, and authorities continue to address concerns about gun violence affecting local youth.
The case remains active and under investigation, with early indications suggesting the shooting was not random and that the individuals involved were known to each other. The Belleville Police Department stated that the Investigations Division is following multiple leads and will submit the case to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review once the investigation is complete.
