Christopher Smith said deputies responded to the scene at 12:10 a.m. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported to a local hospital by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue. Authorities said the suspect went to the residence to address a dispute, and investigators detained all individuals at the scene as they continue to determine whether the shooting was an act of self-defense.
