
A man in his 30s is recovering after being shot in the head late Tuesday morning outside a home in Jacksonville’s Magnolia Gardens neighborhood, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The shooting happened around 11:45 a.m., and first responders found the victim outside the residence with a single gunshot wound to the head. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening and he was taken to a hospital for treatment.
What Police Say
Officers responded to a reported shooting on C Street Lane near W. 45th Street and found the man suffering from the head wound. Investigators say the suspect pulled out a gun, fired once and then fled the scene, according to First Coast News. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office told reporters the victim and suspect appeared to know one another and that the shooting followed a dispute outside the home.
Neighborhood Context
Magnolia Gardens has seen similar incidents in recent years. Local reporting in June 2025 documented a separate shooting in the neighborhood in which a man survived multiple gunshot wounds outside a home, highlighting ongoing safety concerns in parts of northwest Jacksonville.
