Commuters on northbound Interstate 270 should expect lane changes near Interstate 64 starting today. The Missouri Department of Transportation cited unseasonably warm temperatures for accelerating the schedule of traffic pattern adjustments.
MoDOT has announced that up to two additional northbound lanes at mile marker 12 will be closed over the coming nights. Starting today through tomorrow, the first lane will close at 8 p.m., followed by a second lane at 10 p.m. Lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. the following day, with at least one lane remaining open throughout the work.
The upcoming work is part of a larger project to renovate the I-270 bridge over Conway Road and extend the bridge over Ladue Road. On Saturday, drivers will encounter a new configuration with three northbound lanes shifted to the left to accommodate ongoing construction on the right side of the interstate.
Conway Road will be temporarily closed under I-270 starting tomorrow, at 9 p.m. for overhead bridge removals. The road is scheduled to reopen February 9, at 5 a.m. MoDOT states that the project is part of broader infrastructure improvements aimed at providing long-term benefits for the transportation network.
