The City of New Orleans announced that eastbound Morrison Road between Mayo Boulevard and Bundy Road will be closed starting Monday next week for the DPW574 Morrison Road Improvement Project. The project, managed by the city with contractor RNGD, has a budget of $23.6 million and aims to improve roadway and pedestrian infrastructure.
According to the City of New Orleans release, eastbound traffic will be detoured to the I-10 Service Road. Limited local access will be allowed, except for the section from Crowder Boulevard to Benson Court, which will remain one-way eastbound.
The initial closure phase will last about one month, with construction continuing through July 2027. Westbound traffic will not be affected. Pedestrians and cyclists should also expect temporary disruptions.
