The New Orleans Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect in an identity theft investigation. Jeffrey Michael Hunt, a White male born May 31, 1978, is accused of using another person’s identity and Social Security number to open a utility account.
According to the New Orleans Police Department's Facebook post, the incident occurred on July 2, 2025, in the 700 block of Evelina Street in the Fourth District.
If arrested, Hunt faces charges including identity theft, access device fraud, forgery, and computer fraud. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Fourth District detectives at (504) 658-6040. Police noted that all individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
