The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has issued traffic advisories for roads across the Oklahoma City area due to ongoing construction projects that will continue into early this year.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation release, Eastbound I-40 between Hudiburg Dr. and Air Depot Blvd. in Midwest City will be reduced to a single lane Thursday night for bridge repairs. Both directions of SH-9E near US-77 in Norman will also be limited to one lane due to bridge replacement. Eastbound and westbound I-40 on- and off-ramps at Douglas Blvd. will be closed Sunday through early Tuesday for surface work, while I-40 ramps at Anderson Rd. have reopened with some restrictions.
Additional lane restrictions include N.E. 23rd St. between N. Lee Ave. and N. Harvey Ave. through mid-February, SH-4 between Wilshire Blvd. and SH-3/NW Expressway until spring, and SH-66/US-81 in El Reno for roundabout construction through 2025. Danforth Rd. and Kelly Ave. in Edmond are narrowed through spring for expansion. Garth Brooks Blvd. between Andrew Dr. and Health Center Parkway will remain one lane in each direction until summer 2026.
ODOT advises drivers to use caution in work zones, plan for possible delays, and check official updates or traffic apps for current conditions.
