Oklahoma City commuters should expect lane reductions and ramp closures across the metro area, as part of ongoing infrastructure projects. Work will affect major roads including I-35, I-235, I-40, and state highways, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) reported.
On I-35, north and southbound lanes between Memorial Rd. and Wilshire Blvd. was narrowed for sign installation last night. Southbound I-35 between S.E. 15th St. and S.E. 44th St. will be reduced to a single lane today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. I-235 off-ramps at Lincoln Blvd. and 23rd St., and I-40 ramps, will also have reduced widths. The I-40 westbound right shoulder at I-335/Kickapoo Turnpike will be closed through Tuesday next week for testing.
State highways will also be affected. SH-9E near US-77 in Norman will be reduced to one lane in each direction today for bridge work over Bishop Creek, continuing into early 2026. Drivers are advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
