Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt criticized the lengthy delay in announcing two new poultry settlements, noting that years of stalled negotiations may affect the timing of the court’s summary judgment. He said the Attorney General finally acted on his calls to resume talks, but the delays could still put the settlements at risk, as per the Office of Governor J. Kevin Stitt website.
Stitt highlighted the benefits of the settlements for Oklahoma farmers and ranchers, specifically praising Megan Langley and the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association for their advocacy in ensuring rural interests were considered.
He emphasized the need to protect growers and provide certainty for agricultural communities, calling for continued efforts to finalize fair settlements and support Oklahoma’s rural stakeholders.
