Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt expressed support for Expand Energy, formerly known as Chesapeake Energy, following the company’s decision to move its headquarters from Oklahoma to Houston. In a statement from the Governor’s Office, Stitt noted that the company plans to keep a significant workforce and operational presence in Oklahoma.
Stitt said he appreciates homegrown companies that continue operations in the state and emphasized efforts to maintain a business-friendly environment. He highlighted his support for a more competitive tax system and the creation of specialized business courts as part of broader efforts to attract and retain businesses.
The governor said these initiatives are intended to make Oklahoma more competitive and encourage companies to continue investing and operating in the state.
