
A late-night drive through Cincinnati's Winton Hills neighborhood turned deadly early Tuesday when a single-vehicle crash on Este Avenue left one passenger dead and sent the driver to the hospital. Emergency crews remained on scene for hours, shutting down part of the road while investigators worked to piece together what went wrong.
Crash details and timing
The wreck happened in the 4700 block of Este Avenue shortly after 2:30 a.m., according to Cincinnati police, who told FOX19 that one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another occupant was trapped in the vehicle and had to be cut free by firefighters before being taken to a hospital, the station reported. Officials have not yet released the victims' names or shared an update on the hospitalized person's condition.
Road closure and emergency response
Crews shut down roughly a half-mile stretch of Este Avenue between Kings Run Drive and Estecreek Road while investigators processed the scene, WLWT reported. Cincinnati Fire officials said they sent 23 firefighters to the crash, and District Four officers responded as Cincinnati police took the lead on the investigation into what caused the vehicle to go off course.
