Saint Charles drivers should expect extended delays on Muegge Road due to a road rehabilitation project. According to a social media announcement from the Saint Charles, Missouri - City Government, several concrete slabs that were supposed to remain in place began to crack when surrounding failing slabs were removed.
The city is having contractors replace additional slabs, starting in mid-February. Drivers traveling between Mexico Road and Old Muegge Road should plan for lane closures until April 2026. The work is funded through an existing federal grant.
"During the rehabilitation project, several concrete slabs originally planned to remain in place began to crack once the surrounding failing slabs were removed," the Saint Charles, Missouri - City Government's post explained. "To ensure a long-lasting, high-quality roadway, the City is directing the contractor to replace these additional slabs."
The city asks residents to be patient while the project continues and notes that the Saint Charles Engineering Office is available for questions or additional information.
