As Saint Charles, Missouri, prepares for winter weather and snowfall, the City Government has informed residents of its plans to maintain safe travel. According to a social media post, Public Works crews will operate in 12-hour shifts using a fleet of 26 snowplows. Streets will be cleared by priority, starting with arterials and collector roads before moving to residential areas, to support emergency services and minimize disruption for residents.
Residents can view the city’s snow removal plan through the online Snow Route Map and monitor real-time road conditions via a separate online map. Individuals aged 67 and older, as well as those with qualifying medical conditions, are eligible for assistance through the Driveway Approach Snow Removal Program, which is activated when snow reaches a depth of six inches or more.
The city has asked residents to keep vehicles off the streets during snow events to allow plow drivers to clear roads safely and efficiently. Eligible residents can apply for the Driveway Snow Removal Program, with applications and additional information available on the city’s website.
