A Saturday afternoon on a South Memphis block turned tense when a boy was shot on Ingle Avenue, according to police. Officers responded to the 200 block of Ingle Avenue around 3:45 p.m., where they found the child and rushed him to a hospital. He was listed in non‑critical condition.
The Memphis Police Department told WREG that the victim was located at the scene and taken for treatment by officers. No suspect information had been released as of Saturday, and detectives were canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses, the station reported.

Investigators are leaning on the community for help. Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen something or who has home surveillance footage from around the time of the shooting to contact Crime Stoppers at 901‑528‑CASH. According to Crime Stoppers of Memphis and Shelby County, tips can also be submitted online or through the P3 Tips app and may be eligible for a reward.
