
A man is in critical condition after a shooting at a south Phoenix apartment complex late Monday morning, turning an otherwise ordinary day along Chandler Boulevard into an active crime scene.
Officers arrived shortly before 10 a.m. at the complex near Chandler Boulevard and 44th Street, where they found the man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. A woman at the scene was detained as detectives were called in to take over the investigation.
According to Arizona's Family, officers who first responded located the wounded man inside the complex and quickly had him transported for emergency care. The outlet reports that the detained woman remained at the scene while detectives canvassed the area, gathered evidence, and spoke with potential witnesses. Police have not released the victim’s name or any information about a possible motive.
