In a recent trip to the nation's capital, St. Bernard Parish President Guy McInnis, alongside administration officials and council members, took to the halls of power in Washington, D.C., for a series of pivotal meetings. According to a social media post by St. Bernard Parish Government, the delegation was there to bolster federal relations and advocate for both local and state interests.
The discussions with Louisiana's federal delegation revolved around infrastructure needs, securing essential funding, and addressing mutual challenges that various parishes across Louisiana face. These measures are part of larger, ongoing efforts to solidify partnerships at the federal level and to rally support for critical local industries and the community at large.
Noteworthy among the delegation's objectives was the promotion of Louisiana's vibrant seafood industry. St. Bernard Parish proudly backed an event celebrating the Louisiana Oyster Task Force, a commendable recognition of the oyster farmers laboring diligently to ensure the sustainability, and the prosperity of this indispensable resource.
