Drivers in St. Charles County should plan for a detour as Callaway Fork Road will close for construction beginning February 23. The Highway Department will build a concrete box culvert at a location about 1.4 miles from Highway D, with the closure expected to last roughly 45 days, weather permitting, as part of ongoing road safety improvements, according to St. Charles County.
Commuters will need to use detours, as through traffic will be restricted between the barricades, though local residents can still access homes from either side of the closure. The culvert construction is intended to strengthen and maintain the road for daily travel, school trips, and other local traffic.
St. Charles County officials said the project is part of a broader effort to improve the county’s transportation infrastructure. Residents can contact the Highway Department at 636-949-7305 or visit the St. Charles County Government website for updates on this and other roadwork in unincorporated areas.
