St. Charles Parish drivers should expect multiple road closures and detours due to ongoing construction projects. Hwy 628 (CC Road) between the KCS railroad and Hwy 61 will remain closed through March 13, 2026, for sheet pile and batter pile work. Jonathan Street in Destrehan is also closed until further notice, with emergency vehicles allowed on Bunge’s heavy haul road. One lane will remain open at the PS #2 construction site on Hwy 628, as per the St. Charles Parish website.
Ormond Center Court in Destrehan is blocked from 150 Ormond Center Court to 3001 Ormond Blvd, with a detour in place. LA 3127 will have intermittent lane closures between St. James and St. Charles Parish for drainage installation and asphalt work, expected to finish by October 30. Utility work on LA 3127 and LA 3160 will also cause lane and shoulder closures, following a Monday-to-Sunday schedule.
US 61 (Airline Hwy) between Almedia and Ormond will have nightly partial closures for paving from yesterday to Thursday, between 5:30 PM and 6 AM, with work finishing Friday morning. Motorists should plan for delays and follow detour signs.
