On January 19, St. Charles Parish residents gathered with a shared purpose and memory, walking together from West Bank Bridge Park to the Eual J. Landry Center, according to a parish social media post.
Their steps were in commemoration of an iconic figure, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose legacy continues to evoke unity and reflection amongst communities across the nation, as reported by the St. Charles Parish Facebook page. This year marked the 40th annual MLK March, an event entrenched in the local culture and zeitgeist of St. Charles Parish.
The march, which has seen four decades of footsteps, was captured in a recap video that premiered on social media. The video, published on Facebook, showcases "the voices, reflections, and moments that made this year’s march so meaningful," as per the St. Charles Parish.
