Late-Morning Spotty Showers
Isolated showers are most likely between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday, mainly east and southeast of central El Paso, with roughly a 20% chance of rain and new rainfall totals of around a tenth to a quarter of an inch possible. The rest of the day should turn partly to mostly sunny, with light south-southeast winds near 5 to 6 mph. Forecasters at the National Weather Service say most neighborhoods will stay dry, although areas closer to the Rio Grande have the best odds of catching a quick shower.
Week Ahead: Warm Then A Windy Friday
Highs climb into the low 70s on Wednesday and Thursday before a stronger Pacific trough moves in late Friday, bringing a better chance of more widespread showers. Southwest winds are expected on Friday with gusts up to roughly 20 to 24 mph, and the higher terrain could pick up a little snow while lower elevations see rain. Conditions should improve by Saturday, although northwest winds will leave the start of the weekend a bit cooler.

Any short-lived rain this morning could leave slick spots on bridges and shaded roadways during the late-morning commute, so take it easy if you run into wet pavement. Fire danger is expected to stay low through at least Friday, but relative humidity drops back down Sunday and Monday, increasing drying and gust concerns late in the weekend. Evenings will remain on the cool side, with lows in the upper 40s, so a light jacket is still worth keeping handy.
