The Metropolitan Police Department said the search for the person accused of shooting a man in the 1700 block of Minnesota Avenue Southeast on September 14, 2025, has ended after investigators made a significant break in the case. Around 10:28 a.m. that day, a dispute between two men escalated, and one of them drew a firearm and shot the other before fleeing the scene, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Law enforcement arrested 51-year-old Dandrea Reginald Grayton, a man with no fixed address, on charges of Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During a Crime of Violence. The Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force executed the D.C. Superior Court warrant, but authorities have not released details on how Grayton was identified, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department.
Grayton is now the primary subject in the legal proceedings related to the incident. The Metropolitan Police Department provided only a brief statement confirming the arrest and charges.
