
Yesterday afternoon incident in Lawrence County resulted in three drivers being hospitalized following a three-vehicle crash involving a school van. At approximately 2 p.m., authorities from Neshannock Township Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Wilmington Road and Orchard Way due to reports of the collision. According to WPXI, the driver of the school van, associated with New Wilmington School District, suffered a medical emergency leading to loss of consciousness while navigating southbound on Wilmington Road.
The van veered into the opposing lane, making contact with two other vehicles. No children were on board the van at the time, and no additional passengers were present in the other vehicles involved. All three drivers incurred injuries from the accident and were subsequently transported to the hospital. The nature of their conditions has not been disclosed. Each of the vehicles involved was towed from the location.
Further details gathered by WTAE revealed that the school van was on its journey during the time of the medical event that incapacitated its driver. Emergency crews and local police collaborated at the scene to manage traffic and begin the investigation into the cause of the crash.
