Early Monday morning, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was called to two separate shootings on the city's west side, resulting in three men injured. FOX59 reported that the first incident took place around 1:20 a.m. in the 4400 block of Patricia Street, where police found a male victim who had been shot during an apparent home entry by multiple individuals. The man was subsequently hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
As siren echoes faded from Patricia Street, WTHR notes that a second episode of violence unfolded barely half an hour later near West 34th Street and Moller Road, at around 1:50 a.m. Police arrived at the 5300 block of Dunk Drive finding two men wounded by gunfire inside a residence. According to Captain Richard Ray's statement obtained by WTHR, "It appears somebody from outside the residence had shot these individuals while they were inside the residence." Both victims were taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
Investigations into both shootings are underway with no current suspects described or immediate threat to public safety. IMPD emphasized the nonrelation of the incidents, reaffirming the isolated nature of both events. Any witnesses, or those with potentially vital doorbell camera footage, have been asked to come forward to assist in the inquiries. Citizens can contact IMPD at (317) 327-3435 or Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS (8477), as mentioned by FOX59.
In converse to the usual tranquility of the night, the west side of Indianapolis was disrupted by these violent outbreaks. Further reporting by WISH-TV, disclosed that while the Dunk Drive victims were both "awake and breathing" at the scene, details on the suspects or the specific motives remain uncertain.
