February is American Heart Month, and with heart disease among the leading causes of death in the United States, Wake County Government is offering free hands-only CPR courses to the public. According to a Wake County Government social media post, bystander CPR increased patients’ chances of surviving cardiac arrest in Wake County from 15 percent to 42 percent in 2024.
Wake County EMS and Wake County Public Health are partnering to provide the hands-only CPR training sessions. The courses are designed to quickly teach participants how to perform CPR effectively, potentially helping them save a life in an emergency.
Residents are encouraged to register through a county-provided link.
