Residents of 1153 McDaniel St SW were rocked by gun violence late last night when a female was wounded inside her home amidst a hail of gunfire from the street. According to a press release from the Atlanta Police Department, the shooting occurred at approximately 11:40 pm last night, February 1. Upon their arrival, officers found the woman with a gunshot wound, conscious and breathing, before she was swiftly transported to the hospital by EMS personnel.
The chaos seemed to abruptly unfold as the victim reported hearing gunshots and to instinctively seek cover, only to later discover she had been hit. The ensuing preliminary investigation discovered that a resident's vehicle was also damaged by the gunfire.
