Mocha Point, a Yemeni-style coffee shop that opened on Main Street in St. Charles in 2024, plans to open a new location at City Foundry in Midtown St. Louis this spring. The shop will offer cardamom-flavored coffee and Adeni chai, with late-night hours intended to serve students, creatives, and night-shift workers.
Owners Sarem and Addel Othman say the City Foundry spot will be their first St. Louis location, and they are targeting a spring opening. The shop is slated for a ground-floor unit at One Foundry Way, according to KSDK.
Mocha Point lists City Foundry, under "Foundry Way," among its upcoming locations and highlights its roots on Main Street in St. Charles. The company’s online menu leans into small-batch Yemeni roasts, spiced teas and a concise pastry program, and the site notes the business is family-owned, according to Mocha Point's website.
What To Expect
The concept is built around traditional Yemeni late-night coffee culture. The owners say they created Mocha Point to "foster community" and to give people a place to "stay up and do greatness" while studying or talking long past typical café hours. Guests can expect cardamom-forward brewed coffee, Adeni chai and a compact selection of baked goods meant to be shared, as reported by KSDK.
Where It Fits In City Foundry
City Foundry is already stacked with food and entertainment options: tenants include Sylvie Dee's, The Injection Bar, Urban Fort Play Café, The Great Big Game Show and The Escape Game. It reads more like an all-evening campus than a simple shopping center, which should put Mocha Point in front of a steady stream of visitors from day one, according to the directory at City Foundry.
The Othmans emphasize a hands-on, family-run model. Mocha Point describes itself as "family owned and operated" and notes that the founders’ father helps run the business, part of their plan to build a late-night hub for students, creatives and neighbors, as detailed on Mocha Point's website.
The owners have not set a firm opening date beyond "spring" and say they will announce the timing once permitting and the build-out are complete. This story will be updated when Mocha Point posts a grand-opening date or the City Foundry directory lists the new unit.
