Yesterday in Hamtramck, a grim discovery in a neighborhood alley has detectives looking for answers and neighbors on edge.
Around 5 a.m., officers responding to a call about a possible deceased person found a Black man in his early 20s with multiple gunshot wounds in an alley near Dyar and Woodland streets, according to CBS Detroit. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not released additional details about the shooting or the victim as the investigation continues. In a statement shared with CBS Detroit, the department said, “Our thoughts are with the victim's family during this difficult time. The Hamtramck Police Department remains committed to serving and protecting our community.”

The killing is the latest violent incident to jolt the small, densely packed city. Hamtramck officers have leaned on residents before, publicly asking for tips after other shootings in the same area.
