Police say a disturbing case that haunted Atlantic Station for months has finally led to an arrest.
MARTA police took Dorie Trimez Wilson into custody on Wednesday, accusing him of killing and abusing two dogs whose bodies were found last summer inside a parking deck at the Midtown Atlanta retail complex. Investigators say the dogs were strangled and showed other signs of abuse, and that surveillance video helped steer them toward a suspect. A garage worker stumbled on the bodies, prompting a public plea for tips and a dedicated tip line. The arrest comes after weeks of lead-chasing by Fulton County and MARTA investigators.
According to WSB‑TV, Channel 2's Michael Seiden obtained the arrest affidavit that names Wilson and alleges he "intentionally and maliciously" caused the dogs' deaths on July 22. The affidavit, the station reports, charges Wilson with two counts of felony aggravated cruelty to animals and lists additional alleged offenses. WSB‑TV also reports that bodycam footage from an unrelated arrest was part of the evidence that helped investigators identify Wilson as the suspect.

Surveillance footage shows a man walking a tan male dog and a dark brindle-and-white female mixed-breed dog into the parking deck, then returning alone about 20 minutes later, FOX 5 Atlanta reported. Necropsies conducted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the University of Georgia determined that both animals died from strangulation, and Fulton County investigators told FOX 5 the dogs also showed signs of sexual assault. Authorities publicly described the case as especially disturbing and urged anyone with information to reach out.
How detectives pieced it together
The dogs were discovered in a stairwell of the Atlantic Station parking deck after a man arrived to clean the garage, earlier WSB‑TV coverage shows. Investigators say surveillance stills from the deck and a flood of community tips helped narrow the search before MARTA officers arrested Wilson. During a January appeal for information, police circulated a description of the man they were seeking: a Black male, about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, with tattoo sleeves and a gray or white goatee.
