A Monday night ride in a blue Ford Mustang through Hart County ended with gunfire, a fleeing passenger and three teenagers from Toccoa in custody, according to authorities. Deputies say an argument inside the car escalated until a passenger was shot at, the victim bolted from the scene on foot and was later found walking nearby. Officers later tracked down the Mustang, detained three people and recovered multiple firearms during the stop.

Deputies responded around 6:14 p.m. to a reported shooting on Andrew Floyd Road near the intersection of Farm Road and eventually located the victim walking on Tom Rice Road, according to WYFF 4. The victim told investigators he had been riding in the blue Ford Mustang with three others when the car pulled over and a fight broke out. At that point, two people allegedly fired at him as he ran away. The sheriff's office issued a BOLO for the Mustang while the victim continued to flee on foot.

Arrests and charges

As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, the three people detained were identified as Damien Jamier Hunter, 18, Konner Logan Brown, 16, and Jordan Da'shon Robinson, 15. Hunter is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and discharging a firearm near a public highway. Robinson faces the same list of charges. Brown is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Authorities have not said how the victim and the suspects know each other, if at all.

How the stop unfolded

The Georgia State Patrol later spotted the blue Mustang on Highway 17 near Martin and, with help from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and the Lavonia Police Department, conducted a traffic stop, WYFF 4 reports. Officers searched the car and recovered several firearms, which deputies confiscated. Investigators say the work is not over yet as they continue interviewing witnesses and processing evidence from the scene and the vehicle.

Investigation ongoing

Hart County deputies say the case remains an active investigation and have released few additional details about the alleged robbery, according to the Hart County Sheriff's Office. Officials asked anyone with information to contact the sheriff's office tip line listed on the agency website. So far, booking information and court dates have not been posted publicly.

Legal notes

All three face felony counts that carry serious penalties if they lead to convictions, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. At least one suspect is an adult, with Hunter at 18, while Brown and Robinson are juveniles, and prosecutors have not yet said how the two younger defendants will be handled in court. The sheriff's office continues to coordinate with regional law enforcement partners as the case moves forward.
