Midtown Manhattan is tuning up for a new nightlife act. The Pocket, a jazz-focused listening room, is preparing to open inside the Muse Hotel in the coming weeks, bringing a roughly 170-seat venue for live music to the heart of the theater district, a short walk from Broadway.
According to a recent report in Crain's New York Business, The Pocket is being billed as a jazz club with about 170 seats and is “weeks away” from opening. The piece by Julian Nazar did not include a firm opening date or a ticketing schedule.
Hotel programming already points to live music
The Muse’s online events calendar is already booking live acts, including jazz-leaning performances, which signals that the hotel is ramping up its in-house music programming. Event listings and venue descriptions on The Muse New York emphasize the property’s location near Broadway and Times Square, positioning the hotel as a convenient stop for theatergoers.
The Pocket's place in Midtown
If it opens as planned, The Pocket will add a small, dedicated listening room to Midtown that is well placed for pre-show warmups or post-show wind downs for both hotel guests and nearby theater audiences. Hotel-based music rooms often benefit from steady foot traffic and a built-in crowd, an advantage in a neighborhood where many of the city’s well-known jazz clubs tend to cluster in other parts of town.
What's next
Crain's New York Business reported that the club is “weeks away” from its debut but noted that promoters have not yet released a full program or ticketing details. The Muse’s events calendar is expected to be the first place where public dates and ticket information appear, per The Muse New York, with further updates likely to surface in ongoing coverage from outlets such as Crain's New York Business.
