
An 18-year-old St. Louis man is now facing serious charges in connection with a deadly shooting that left a 25-year-old woman dead in the Carr Square neighborhood. Prosecutors have identified the suspect as Ervin Cage Jr., and authorities say the victim was found last October inside a car on Biddle Street.

Ervin Cage Jr. has been booked on counts that include first-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of armed criminal action, as reported by KSDK. According to the outlet, Cage is being held without bond while the case moves through the city's criminal process.
What Police Say About the October Shooting
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department says officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert just before 1 a.m. on Oct. 18, 2025, to the 1600 block of Biddle. When they arrived, they found a car resting against a fire hydrant with a woman in the driver's seat who had been shot. The department identified the victim as 25-year-old Raykel Thompson and said she was transported to a hospital in critical condition before being pronounced dead, according to the police statement.
