Authorities say a routine drive through Marietta turned into a nightmare on March 7, when a man allegedly climbed into a woman’s car at gunpoint while she was traveling with three children, forced her to keep driving around the city and only stopped when the vehicle crashed near a hospital.
Cobb County deputies identified the suspect as Jeremiah Williams. Investigators say he got into the vehicle while armed, assaulted the driver to take control and held the woman and children against their will as he moved the car through Marietta. The ride ended in a crash on Church Street near Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center, where deputies and Marietta police say they chased Williams on foot and arrested him. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, deputies reported that Williams still had the gun on him when he was taken into custody. The woman and three children did not sustain serious injuries, and the investigation remains active.
The wreck was reported along Church Street outside the Kennestone campus. Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center lists its address as 677 Church Street NE in Marietta, which sits next to the stretch of Church Street investigators referenced in their account.

Williams faces a long list of felony counts, including kidnapping, hijacking a motor vehicle, false imprisonment, terroristic threats, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, simple battery, cruelty to children and obstruction of law enforcement.
