Investigators had secured an arrest warrant tied to a complaint first received on Dec. 11, 2025, and 35-year-old Cody Cullen Landry was booked on three counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

According to the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office, the complaint identified a child under the age of 14 who was allegedly subjected to sexual intercourse by Landry on multiple occasions over nearly three years. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant, then moved in as Landry appeared in court for a scheduled criminal jury trial on unrelated charges.
