
A three-vehicle collision in midtown Phoenix turned deadly Saturday evening near Indian School Road and 3rd Avenue, according to Phoenix police. The crash left at least one other person hurt and snarled traffic along the busy corridor.
Emergency crews rushed an adult from the scene to a hospital, where that person later died from their injuries. A woman was taken to a different hospital with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers told 12News that multiple vehicles were involved and that investigators stayed on scene working to piece together the chain of events. The station reported that the victim’s identity has not yet been released and that the crash remains under active investigation.
Intersection Has History of Serious Collisions
The area around Indian School Road and 3rd Avenue is no stranger to tragedy. A 2018 pedestrian death near the same intersection was documented by ABC15, a case that sparked concerns about how safe it is to walk along some of midtown’s busiest streets.
