
Last Friday, in Barrio Logan, it turned deadly when a 28-year-old man was fatally stabbed in an alley, and San Diego police are now asking anyone who saw or recorded anything to come forward.
Officers responded shortly after 11:13 PM to a report of a stabbing in a south alley near Logan Avenue and 16th Street. When they arrived, they found the victim collapsing from stab wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Homicide detectives planned to spend Saturday canvassing the neighborhood in search of witnesses and evidence.
According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, investigators said the victim, described by police as a 28-year-old man of Somali descent, was confronted by a group that included three Hispanic men and a Hispanic woman. Some members of that group attacked him, the outlet reported. Officers briefly detained a man and a woman shortly after the stabbing, but both were later released. Police told the paper they will not identify the victim until his family has been notified.
