Memphis police on Wednesday released surveillance photos of five people they say were involved in a violent assault inside a downtown parking garage, and they are turning to the public for help. The early morning February attack left multiple people injured, including one victim whose leg injury was serious enough to require surgery.
What police say about the incident
According to the Memphis Police Department, officers were dispatched at about 3:15 a.m. on Feb. 15 to a parking garage at 14 South Second Street after several people were assaulted. Investigators say surveillance video captured the altercation, and the suspects left the garage together in a two tone Chevrolet Silverado heading east on Union Avenue. MPD posted still images of five people it wants to identify and urged anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH.
Photos released to the public
As reported by Action News 5, the station published the images Wednesday after MPD circulated the photos to investigators. The outlet noted that detectives are asking witnesses and anyone with phone video from the area to come forward as they continue to piece together who was involved.
