A house fire in the Traditions of Braselton neighborhood of Jackson County on Saturday escalated into a larger emergency response when crews called in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's bomb team, triggering evacuations and multiple street closures. Firefighters were able to contain the main body of the blaze, but authorities held the scene while bomb specialists inspected the property for anything that might pose an additional hazard.
According to 11Alive, Jackson County officials confirmed the GBI bomb team was on site and that traffic and access to Traditions Way, Muscadine Way and Rice Creek Court were shut down. The sheriff's office posted a notice on Facebook urging people to stay away from the area while crews worked. Local fire units remained on scene to support investigators as the response continued.

In a statement to 11Alive, county officials said crews were "clearing the home of any potential explosives" and that once the sweep wrapped up, firefighters planned to return and knock down remaining hot spots. Authorities did not immediately release any information on possible injuries or on what might have started the fire.
