Gunfire tore through the 6400 block of Cache Road early Saturday, sending multiple people to the hospital and putting one of Lawton’s busiest corridors back in the crime spotlight. Police say officers rolled up just before 1:25 a.m. and found several victims, who were taken to local hospitals, while detectives worked the scene and began what is shaping up to be a sprawling investigation, as per KOCO.
Police Seek Tips
According to KOCO, Lawton Police Department said in a news release that officers located "multiple victims" but are not yet releasing how many people were hurt, their conditions, or any descriptions of possible suspects. Investigators are urging anyone who saw or heard anything to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 580-355-4636. Crime Stoppers of SW Oklahoma can also be reached at the same number for those who want to remain anonymous.
Where It Happened
The 6400 block of Cache Road sits on Lawton’s northwest side, a high-traffic stretch that locals know has seen more than its share of serious trouble. The Chronicle reported the city shut down that section after a deadly hit-and-run in May 2023, and local station KSWO covered a motel shooting on the Cache Road corridor in January 2026. With that recent history, police are pressing neighbors, drivers and nearby businesses to review security cameras and share anything that might help detectives connect the dots.
How To Report Tips
Crime Stoppers of SW Oklahoma accepts anonymous tips at 580-355-4636 as well as through its website, according to the organization’s information page. Lawton Police are asking residents to monitor the department’s official channels for updates as investigators work to identify suspects and firm up a timeline of the overnight shooting.
