A person was killed in a shooting on Daniel Shays Highway in Belchertown Friday evening, according to authorities, after police and state troopers rushed to the scene shortly after 5 p.m. and found a victim who was later pronounced dead. The victim’s name has not yet been released, and an autopsy will determine the official cause of death.
