Inter Miami is turning its future Nu Stadium into a full-blown retail destination, locking in a five-year club partnership with adidas and planning an 11,000-square-foot, two-story team store that the club and its partners say will be the largest in Major League Soccer. The agreement gives adidas a major in-stadium footprint and activations throughout the Miami Freedom Park development as the brand lines up new merchandise and fan experiences. Nu Stadium is scheduled to host its first home match on April 4, 2026, when Inter Miami faces Austin FC.
Adidas Signs Five-Year Club Deal
The club announced the five-year, club-level agreement in a statement that casts adidas as a primary retail and activation partner at the new stadium and surrounding development. As reported by the Miami Herald, adidas will activate around Nu Stadium and Miami Freedom Park, on preseason tours, and across Inter Miami’s social channels.
Club Frames Partnership As Cultural
In a statement on the Inter Miami CF website, the club's commercial leaders said the deal is meant to help “advance fútbol culture worldwide” while widening the team’s international retail reach. Club officials said they expect the partnership to fund programming, in-stadium activations, and broader merchandising efforts tied directly to the new venue.
Largest Team Store In MLS
The agreement centers on an 11,000-square-foot, two-story team store inside Nu Stadium, a space the Miami Herald reports will be the largest single-club retail shop in Major League Soccer. The store is one of several retail and entertainment tenants planned for the stadium complex and is positioned as the club’s primary showroom for adidas products. The stadium is set to open for its inaugural home match on April 4, 2026, against Austin FC, according to Goal.
How This Fits Into The Bigger Picture
Adidas already serves as Major League Soccer’s equipment and apparel partner under a league-wide agreement, and the company has said it plans to deepen investments at the club level to grow local fan engagement. In its 2023 MLS partnership announcement, adidas highlighted a commitment to expanding the sport in North America. Inter Miami leaders say the new club tie creates a bespoke platform for product drops and international distribution, and they argue the activation will place Inter Miami alongside adidas’ top international partners while giving the team a larger retail and branding engine.
What Fans Will See
On matchdays, supporters can expect a heavier adidas footprint, from expanded kit availability and exclusive drops to branded experiences in the team store and throughout Miami Freedom Park. For Inter Miami, the partnership lands at a moment of strong commercial momentum and provides a permanent retail hub as the club builds toward its spring schedule and summer international activations.
