The St. John Parish Sheriff's Office reported that deputies were dispatched to the area at about 9:35 p.m. Friday. They have been canvassing the neighborhood, looking for witnesses and any surveillance footage that might show what happened before or after the shooting.
Recent violence in LaPlace
The killing lands on top of a string of high-profile shootings in St. John Parish in recent months and is likely to deepen local concern over gun violence.
